Did you notice? It has snowed once or twice around here. Our ladies LOVE the snow. I mean, how can you not? It is beautiful, soft, tasty. Everything you could ever want. My favorite days are when it is actively snowing and the girls spend 10 extra minutes walking from car to house. A little snowball here, a few foot prints there. Life is great. I am pretty sure that driving cars inspires most of what the world hates about snow. Traffic, shoveling out, driving, etc. I am still commuting to work by bike - so I get to simply enjoy the snow with the ladies.
B did notice last Saturday after 20 inches that the snow was a little higher than usual. We came out the back door and the snow was even with the stairs. Cool! It is now like a swimming pool. She kept yelling to her sister: "Hurry down A, you need to jump into the pool." So what did A do? Try to swim of course. So fun.
We decided to go grocery shopping. B and I were the only ones brave enough. She insisted that I bring a sled with in the car in case we get stuck and I had to pull her back home. Smart plan! Let me tell you, that was one crazy drive. We didn't get stuck (I am an awesome snow driver), but I would have paid top dollar for the sled had we needed to walk.
From that awesome plan, to another. We got back and she said "I know. I have an idea." (this is our catch phrase right now) Anyway. "I have a great idea. We can make our own ice rink!" Oh really? "Yep! We will use this pool from summer, and fill it with ice. Then the little girls can practice on a little rink."
Let's be fair... the pool would be ruined, no one could really skate on it and there would be no good place to really put this. But this is me. My first thought was YES, That WOULD be awesome. What if we got a bigger pool? More water, more ice, more trouble. I tell B that we should look in a book to see if there is anything we should know before we start the plan. She says "No.. Don't look in a book. If we wait too long, you will decide it is a bad plan." Yikes. She knows my impulsive side. And then the push: "Lets put out the pool and then put ice cubes in the water it so it freezes faster."
She is good. I am going to be in trouble with that one.
