Memory challenge.

B keeps asking me about the 1960's. Just like that. "Mom. Is this the 1960's?" I know she says weird things, but that is such a strange question. I have been trying to get her in on the 2010's... but she isn't for it. She wants the '60's.

To get to the bottom of it, I ask probing questions like: "What was it like in the 60's? Where did you hear about the '60's?" I am getting no where.

I have two clues, but I just can't figure out how she would have gotten this information. So if you told her anything about the "nineteen sixties" at any time, fess up, it is driving me crazy.

Clue #1: She says she saw it near my office. This is true. There is a HUGE display in the library about how the library was named and on it, in the upper corner she pointed out that it was talking about the 1960's. But, even if she knew the number and could reliably say "look mom, an 8" that is way different than being able to read the string of 1-9-6-0 and say "nineteen sixties." I am not buying that that was her first exposure.

Clue #2: The Riverview theater. She tells me that the 1960's happened at the Riverview. They did, but again... how did she know?

So... help decode. I am usually an expert at figuring out where they got information. It is the secret to my mom success, tying all sorts of random information together so they see life as a whole. Now I have to figure out how to teach a three year old about safe sex and how to say no to drugs. Oh wait, I am already working on both of those issues.
