In case you were wondering, parenting isn't all cute sayings and giggles. There are times, like when one person is gone, that you wonder how anyone ever makes it through this ordeal. It is CRAZY! Last night was one of those times. No Brendan, but lots to accomplish.
I had three babies that were at Nana's house. I don't know if you have ever had to extract children from the care free safety of their nana, but it is tough. Crying. Kicking. Screaming.
And then what was on the agenda? Oh, only cleaning for the in-laws coming. Changing all the sheets in the house. And preparing for the next day. Oh, did I forget to mention preparing interview clothes for the missing parent?
I couldn't find the ironing board. I turned the sheets I was washing from white to blue. I thought I would freak out at the amount of work required to make it through one evening. I just wanted to get into my bed. But alas... babies, work, cleaning and ironing called.
At some point, it doesn't matter what should happen, you get done what needs to happen. The next morning I did get a kick out of the question Brendan asked the girls when he arrived home from the library. "Why are you sleeping in your bathing suit?" If you only knew the madness...
